"I started taking classes at Lois's studio four and a half years ago. I was pretty desperate. My back hurt so bad that I couldn't bend over to tie my shoes or carry my kids upstairs. I had tried the chiropractor and the orthopedist without much success. Cliche as it sounds, yoga was my last hope for pain relief. Right away, I knew I belonged in Lois's class and part of the broader community that she helped cultivate. She made it easy to relax and ignore all the self-limiting judgments that I was inflexible, broken, never going to heal. She taught me to rest with myself, to consider one breath as the only task, no matter the pose we were in. Over time, my practice and format (vinyasa, ashtanga, yin) knowledge grew. I tried out arm balances, headstands and binds. I learned how to hold a pose for 2 minutes, how to keep my mind at ease even if my muscles were screaming--all of which translated back into my personal and professional life. Lois is a phenomenal teacher, yogi, thinker and friend. Thank goodness for people like her."

“Lois is a yoga teacher for everyone! She'll meet you where you are- whether you are an experienced yogi or stepping on your mat for the first time. Lois has a passion for teaching and sharing her practice- and it is felt in every class! She inspires me to be a better yoga teacher and dig deeper into my own practice- on and off the mat! I'm so grateful our paths have crossed!”

”I love practicing yoga with Lois because of the energy and passion she brings to every practice. She cultivates energy throughout the class and by the end of class you feel leaner and mentally reset. Lois has an innate ability to connect with everyone in the class and teach at eye-level - no one feels left out no matter your skill level or physical state on your mat that day”.

“My yoga journey started a long time ago, as a novice practice participant, really just checking the box to say I did it on occasion. After taking advantage of Lois’ teaching, it has become an integral part of my rigorous workout routine. I would often make excuses saying that yoga wasn’t for me because it wasn’t challenging enough. Well, Lois most definitely changed my mind about that. I have never been pushed to my limit while crying tears of laughter and joy all while growing spiritually, emotionally, physically, and mentally. Thank you Lois, for leading me to a place in myself I didn’t know was there. I wish you all the blessings and accolades you deserve on this new journey, and am looking forward to being a patron at Sonda for years to come.”

”I have been practicing yoga with Lois for the past 6 years. Whether in person or virtual, relaxing yin, traditional ashtanga, or energizing flow, after a yoga class led by Lois I feel at peace, as if I’ve been wrapped up in a cozy blanket. Through my practice and her teaching, I am better able to face life’s challenges (big and small) and I’m in great physical and mental shape. I am grateful to have her as a teacher.”

“I have only practiced for 3 years now and I appreciate how Lois makes yoga accessible to everyone. She is an authentic, genuine teacher. She takes the time to explain the asanas and shares modifications to meet you where you are. My yoga practice has grown tremendously because of her ability to connect, her strong attention to detail and passion for sharing her heart. I am truly grateful our paths have crossed. Lois is a true inspiration and has empowered me to go further in my practice of always being a student!”

“I consider Lois to be a mentor teacher to me. Her authenticity and full, committed presence makes you feel like every word she guides is meant specifically for you. In quarantine, Lois’ virtual classes and her ability to connect no matter the platform truly kept me sane. I’ve met very few teachers in my 7 years of practicing yoga that have been as impactful, intentional and have had such thoughtfully structured flows as Lois. If every teacher was a Lois, everyone would practice yoga. ”

“I have practiced yoga for over 10 years now from a multitude of teachers all over the country. What I can say from the heart, is that practicing with Lois, is the most well-rounded exchange I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Not only am I in the best shape of my life physically due to her classes, but I receive insight, inspiration, consciousness, and education with every practice. Lois is medicine for the mind, body and soul. And even amidst the coronavirus and social distancing, she is still able to transcend her message and teachings through Zoom. I consider myself incredibly blessed that our paths crossed and I am on the receiving end of her incredible gift.”

“My Yoga experience started with Lois about 7 years ago. I was truly impressed with the yoga that she taught. Her classes are, what I now would expect in a yoga class, very fulfilling. She makes you feel welcome, happy, excited and relaxed all in a one hour class. Her knowledge of yoga is very deep and she is always willing to share it. I have been fortunate to not only take her classes as a student, I have also gone through Yoga teacher training with her and have been able to go on 3 yoga retreats that she has sponsored. These experiences have allowed me to deepen my practice and to become more in tune with myself and my place in this world we live in. All of this has been possible with the help of her guiding hand. Her classes, retreats and teacher training are fun and rewarding. Thanks Lois for all you do.”

I have had the honor of knowing Lois for about 2 years now. Lois is a phenomenal teacher, mentor, and human being. In every class she does a masterful job of creating a safe space for all students and encourages you show up as you are without any judgments. Whatever your level of experience or what your reasons for showing up to class are, you are welcomed and accepted. Her love of yoga becomes apparent and proves genuine very quickly. There is always something to take away from one of her classes, whether it is something physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual, there is something for everyone. I cannot recommend Lois enough. If you want to see a master at work, look no further.”
